2023 Alamo Classic Schedule Update 14U/12U

Below is all the Alamo Classic – 14U/12U Divisions tournament info for this upcoming weekend, October 7-8, 2023 at the Alamo Heights Natatorium in San Antonio (hosted by Alamo Area Water Polo).  There are 22 teams playing in three divisions across two courses running simultaneously during the two day event:  Alamo Classic – 14U/12U Divisions – Schedule & Results – 2023.  All teams will be playing four games in a festival style format.  There is no spectator admission fee for this weekend.  Clubs should bring their team entry fee checks made payable to “AHISD” and give to Joe Linehan (total number of teams x $600).  Clubs need to use the USAWP roster verification system for this weekend (Roster Deadline is Friday, October 6th).  Coaches/Teams will need to print out and bring their own score sheets for each of the games (give score sheet to the score table after the ID Checks and before each game).
The 8th Grade & Younger divisions will be playing 7 v 7 with size 4 balls and normal size goals.  The 12U Mixed division will play 6 v 6 with size 3 balls and 12U goals.  The referees will be doing ID Checks this weekend at the tournament (please plan accordingly).  In-water warm-up can be between quarters and/or immediately before the game (the outside pavilion can be used for dryland warm-up).  FYI, there is limited parking in the pool parking lot.  Athletes/parents can use the tennis center parking lot or park on the street in front of the facility (be aware of “no parking” signs).  Again, below is all the info for the tournament this weekend.

  • Alamo Classic – 14U/12U Divisions – Schedule & Results – 2023
  • Date:  October 7-8, 2023.  Games will be played in two courses running simultaneously and begin on Saturday morning and ending around 4:00 pm on Sunday.
  • Location: Alamo Heights Natatorium, 705 Trafalgar Rd., San Antonio, TX 78216
  • Divisions:  8th Grade & Younger Boys/Mixed, 8th Grade & Younger Girls, and 12U Mixed (Age as of Date is Saturday, October 7, 2023)
  • Entry Fee: $600 per team. Please bring checks made payable to “AHISD” to the pool the day of the event.
  • Roster Deadline:  Friday, October 6, 2023.  Coaches/Teams will need to print out and bring their own score sheets for each of the games (give score sheet to the score table before each game).
  • Division Specific Playing Rules:

    • The 8th Grade & Younger divisions will be playing 7 v 7 (size 4 ball, normal size goal).

    • The 12U Mixed division will play 6 v 6  (size 3 ball, 12U goals).

  • Game Day Details:

    • No Deck Changing.  Athletes will have access to the locker rooms.

    • Teams can use the outdoor pavilion prior to their games for dryland warm up.

    • Teams can warm-up between quarters of the game immediately before their game.

    • Teams will have at least 5 minutes of water warm up before each game.

    • Teams need to provide their own warm-up balls and game caps.

    • Hospitality: Hospitality will be provided for coaches and officials ONLY.

    • Parking: There is limited parking in the pool parking lot.  Athletes/parents can use the tennis center parking lot or park on the street in front of the facility (be aware of “no parking” signs).
